Curbside Collection Details
Recycling
With Simple Sort recycling, all recyclable materials are placed in a single cart (grey lid) and collected every other week. ACE provides automated curbside collection using specialized trucks equipped with an arm that lifts and empties the cart.
To ensure pickup, place your recycling cart at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day. (Collection start times may vary by city, and ACE follows each local ordinance; 6:00 a.m. is the earliest possible start time.)
Always place acceptable recyclables loose in your cart or in brown paper bags—never in plastic bags. Be sure to include only approved items, as carts containing plastic bags or unacceptable materials may not be collected and could incur additional fees. For a full list of acceptable items, visit our Recycling Guide page.
Yard Waste
A weekly cart service is available for an additional fee. ACE provides a wheeled 96‑gallon cart with a green lid for convenient weekly yard waste collection. Prepayment for this seasonal service must be made directly to ACE. To enroll, please contact ACE directly.
For on‑call service, yard waste bag stickers may be purchased from the City, or bags may be prepaid directly through ACE. Customers must contact ACE to schedule collection and submit prepayment at least one business day prior to their regular service day.
All yard waste must be placed in compostable bags. Plastic bags are not accepted in accordance with Minnesota state law.
Acceptable yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves, brush and branches less than 6-inches in diameter, and garden waste, including pumpkins.

Curbside Collection Guidelines
- At the CurbPlease have your cart at the street by 6:00am on collection day to ensure pickup.
3-Foot RuleKeep carts at least three feet away from other carts, mailboxes, fire hydrants, low hanging trees or shrubs, parked cars, and utility poles so trucks can easily complete collection.
